Bile Duct Cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma)
Symptoms:
- Yellowing of your skin and whites of your eyes
- Weight loss
- Abdominal pain or discomfort
- Nausea
- Itchy skin
Treatment Options
Treatment depends on the size and location of the tumor, whether the cancer has spread, and the person’s overall health. The main treatment for bile duct cancer is surgery. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy may be used if the cancer cannot be entirely removed with surgery. Additionally, Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) therapy can be used with stenting to perform biliary drainage or decompression for symptom relief.
