How it works
The INTELLANAV STABLEPOINT Ablation Catheter combines the power of contact force and local impedance to give you dynamic insights into cardiac tissue and lesion formation. Integrated with the OPAL HDx™ Mapping System, the INTELLANAV STABLEPOINT Ablation Catheter enables you to diagnose, ablate, and validate with more critical information than ever before.
Contact with deeper insights
STABLEPOINT incorporates contact force and local impedance to help reveal relevant tissue properties before, during, and after delivery of RF ablation.
Monitor subsurface tissue heating
Local impedance drop has been found to correlate with subsurface tissue heating and lesion formation.1 Learn more about the ablation metric.
Identify scar vs. healthy tissue

NEwTON AF Clinical Study: Clinical evaluation of the STABLEPOINT catheter and force sensing system for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation
In a global, prospective, single-arm, multicenter study, researchers evaluated the safety and effectiveness of the INTELLANAV STABLEPOINT Ablation Catheter with DIRECTSENSE™ Technology for the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. At 12 months, the freedom from predefined adverse events was 96.0%, with no recorded steam pops or cases of esophageal fistula. Additionally, at 12 months, freedom from documented recurrence of AF was 73.9%1
NEwTON AF clinical highlight
At 12 months, there was a 74% freedom from documented recurrence of AF among the study population and no reported steam pops or esophageal fistulas.1
Real-world findings from the CHARISMA Registry
In a prospective multicenter study, 212 consecutive AF patients were enrolled for de novo pulmonary vein isolation with the STABLEPOINT Ablation Catheter. High-power short-duration (HPSD) ablation with both contact force and local impedance on the STABLEPOINT Ablation Catheter resulted in high first-pass isolation rate of 93.3% with no reported steam pops or major complications.²
LI drop summary
Local impedance is calculated differently in INTELLANAV STABLEPOINT than in the INTELLANAV MIFI™ Open-Irrigated Ablation Catheter. For guidance on the ablation metric, see the summary for examples of the local impedance drops in the STABLEPOINT literature.
INTELLANAV STABLEPOINT uses three-electrodes without mini-electrodes in calculating local impedance. INTELLANAV MIFI OI uses four with mini-electrodes.
