EKOS reimbursement

Updated reimbursement for EKOS procedures

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the fiscal year 2023 Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) final rates and policies. Effective October 1, 2022, two EKOS procedure codes used for pulmonary embolism treatment saw an increase in reimbursement of nearly 9%, while the third increased by 2.4%. Reimbursement for EKOS peripheral vascular procedure codes (including DVT treatment) increased by almost 5%.
