Michael “Mike” Mahoney is chief executive officer of Boston Scientific Corporation and chairman of the company’s board of directors. Since joining Boston Scientific, Mahoney has focused the company on addressing the needs of the evolving healthcare landscape by driving improvements to patient outcomes and increasing healthcare economic efficiency and access. Under his leadership, Boston Scientific has brought many transformational medical devices to market while creating significant value for its shareholders. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Mahoney was worldwide chairman of Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy franchise, an orthopedics and neurosciences business. Mr. Mahoney also served as president and chief executive officer of Global Healthcare Exchange, a provider of supply chain solutions and services that brings together hospitals, manufacturers, distributors and group purchasing organizations. Mr. Mahoney began his career at General Electric Medical Systems, where he spent 12 years, culminating in the role of general manager of the Healthcare Information Technology business. He serves on the board of directors of Baxter International, the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Boston and as the chair of the board of governors of Boston College CEO Club and the American Heart Association CEO roundtable. Mr. Mahoney received his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa and his M.B.A. from Wake Forest University.
