We continue to prioritize assessment of waste and water management systems at our key manufacturing and distribution sites.
Recent progress includes:
Cutting landfill waste by improving reuse, recycling and resource efficiency at our sites.
How we are moving toward zero waste
We are working to significantly reduce waste across our key manufacturing and distribution sites. Following Total Resource Use and Efficiency (TRUE) methodology, our goal is to divert at least 90% of solid, non-hazardous waste from landfill and incineration by 2030. In 2025, we recycled 75% of our solid non-hazardous waste, excluding waste avoided as defined by TRUE. Our sites in Coyol and Heredia in Costa Rica, and Quincy in Massachusetts, U.S., have achieved TRUE Zero Waste Certification at the Gold level.
Managing water use responsibly and designing facilities with conservation in mind.
How we are minimizing water use
While our operations are not highly water-intensive, we work to reduce consumption and address potential water supply challenges. Our global design guidelines incorporate water-efficiency best practices into new construction and major facility refurbishments. In 2025, 26% of our direct water consumption was linked to production processes.
Assessing nature-related impacts and identifying opportunities to help protect local ecosystems.
How we assess and support biodiversity
We have developed a framework to assess biodiversity in the ecosystems where we build and maintain facilities, including ecosystems designated as key biodiversity or protected sites by international and national organizations.
At existing and potential new sites, teams evaluate nature-related impacts and risks and identify opportunities to help restore and support the ecosystems where we operate.
