Stone Disposables

Stone Disposables

Personalise the procedure and enhance its efficacy with our versatile range of single-use tools

Every stone case brings its own challenges - and having the right disposable solutions can make all the difference. As your partner in stone management, Boston Scientific offers a comprehensive portfolio of stents and retrieval devices designed to support you in managing complexity, enhancing efficiency and optimising perfomance.

Range of Stents

Every patient is different – and so is every ureteroscopy case.

Because no single stent can meet every clinical challenge, Boston Scientific offers a broad and versatile portfolio designed to support different ureteroscopy needs.

Backed by 35 years of clinical research, our complete range includes firm, soft, and dual-durometer stents designed to accommodate your patient’s unique anatomy, clinical presentation, and tolerance.

Tria Stents

Tria stents

Urinary calcium and magnesium salt deposits can contribute to stent complications such as encrustation. Approximately 75% of long-term indwelling stents may become encrusted within 6 months, potentially increasing the risk of infection and obstruction.¹⁻⁵

The Tria™ Ureteral Stent, featuring Percushield™ technology, is designed to help reduce the accumulation of both magnesium and calcium salts during indwell.⁶⁻⁷

The Tria™ Stent is designed to be stiffer during placement to support navigation through patient anatomy. It then softens by over 40% at body temperature, which may help promote greater patient tolerability.⁸

Dakota™

Dakota Dakota Nitinol Stone Retrieval with OpenSure Handle

When removing complex stones of varying size and composition in challenging locations, every detail matters.

The Dakota™ nitinol stone retrieval device with OpenSure™ handle is designed to give you the power to capture, reposition and remove multiple stones of varying size and complexity — all in a single procedure.

With Dakota™, you can:

Release larger – designed to quickly release large, complex kidney stones on demand with a single press of the patented OpenSure™ Handle

Reach deeper – the basket is designed to be flexible enough to effectively reach all areas of the renal pelvis and to open and close at full scope deflection

Capture smaller – a high-performance nitinol hybrid grasper designed to enable head-on capture of small 1 mm stones

  7. Study methodology: Testing was performed by an independent third-party using the in-vitro BEST™ method to evaluate salt adhesion of the ureteral stents. A total of 30 samples from each ureteral stent family were tested in both a sterile Artificial Urine Model and a Bacterial Infection Model (n=15 in each model) for 2 weeks. Proteus mirabilis was used as the microbial challenge in the Bacterial Infection Model due to its known urease production and involvement in struvite formation.
