Patient History

A forty-year-old female with gallstone pancreatitis developed a large, mid-body pancreatic fluid collection. A CT revealed this to be walled-off-necrosis (WON). There was loss of solid pancreas around the mass, and there was evident solid debris in the collection. The patient was referred to our institute for endoscopic drainage and more importantly, she needed debridement. There was a large amount of solid material in this lesion, so six weeks after her onset of acute pancreatitis, a 20mm AXIOS Stent was placed.
