Altering Clinical Care with Cholangioscopy

Direct visualization during an ERCP may result in a faster more definitive diagnosis of pancreatic and biliary cancers.1,3 When used in conjunction with laser or EHL, cholangloscopy efficiently treats biliary stones potentially reducing the need for reintervention.1,3

The latest prospective* literature about the SpyGlassTM DS Direct Visualization System demonstrated:

  • High diagnostic accuracy, ranging from 84% to 95%1
  • High success rate of 82% to 93% for removing large or difficult stones1,2

Transforming Biliary Stone Management

While stones can be removed with standard ERCP techniques, approximately 10-15% are considered difficult and can be challenging to treat effectively.1 Electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL) is one option to remove these difficult biliary stones. The SpyGlass DS System is used in an increasing number of EHL procedures, further enabling an increased stone clearance success rate in a single session.1
