Our Commitment
Our commitment to improving patient health comes with a responsibility to protect the planet we all share. In 2017, we were one of the first global MedTech company to set an ambitious target of carbon neutrality in our manufacturing and key distribution sites by 2030.
In addition to this, we have officially joined the United Nations Race to Zero and Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign.
In doing so, Boston Scientific has set science-based emissions reduction targets that will put us on a path to achieving net-zero emissions across our entire value chain by 2050.
Boston Scientific has achieved an important milestone on our path to net-zero by having our emission reduction targets approved by the SBTi. This accomplishment establishes us as one of the first companies in the MedTech industry to have science-based, verified net-zero scopes 1, 2, and 3 targets under the SBTi Net-Zero Standard.

Whilst our life-saving products help millions of people worldwide, their production and distribution also have a carbon footprint. We have a responsibility to look for ways to reduce that impact which we do through our C³ Energy Strategy:
