Boston Scientific Cookie Notice

Last Updated: April 24, 2026

This Cookie Notice explains how Boston Scientific Corporation ("BSC," "Boston Scientific," "we," "our," or "us") uses cookies, pixels, web beacons, software development kits, and other tracking technologies (collectively, "technologies") when you interact with our websites, mobile applications or online services ("Sites").

This Cookie Notice explains how we use these technologies and how you can manage them. Please also review the Privacy Notice featured on our Site to learn more about how we collect, use and disclose your personal data and any rights that you may have under certain privacy laws.

Types of Tracking Technologies

Cookies

Cookies are small files of information that are stored by your web browser or on the hard drive of your computer or mobile device. Different types of cookies allow us to:

  • Operate and improve our Sites and Services;
  • Understand how users interact with our content, such as which pages were opened or visited by the user;
  • Personalize the user's experience;
  • Provide advertising and marketing communications; and
  • Detect security incidents and prevent fraud.

Cookies collect information that allows the Site to recognize a device or web browser and remember information about the user's preferences or interactions. For example, cookies may allow you to access the Site, navigate between pages or features, improve your experience, and provide the content or features that you request or reasonably expect.

Pixels, Scripts and Similar Technologies

We may use pixel tags (also known as web beacons and clear GIFs), scripts and similar technologies to track users of our Sites and Services (including email recipients), measure the success of our marketing campaigns, and compile statistics about usage of the services and response rates. Our advertising partners also may use technologies to collect information for the purposes described above.

Embedded Third-Party Media

Our Sites may include embedded content, such as videos, provided by third parties, including YouTube. When you access a page containing embedded video content, your browser may automatically transmit certain information to the third-party provider, such as your IP address, device information, browser type, and information about your interactions with the content. The provider may also use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your viewing activity.

We do not control the data collection practices of these third parties. The information collected through embedded content is subject to the third party's privacy policy. For more information, please review the third party's privacy policy.

Google reCAPTCHA

We may use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our Sites from spam and abuse. Google reCAPTCHA works differently depending on what version is deployed. For example, you may be asked to check a box indicating that you are not a robot or Google reCAPTCHA may detect abusive traffic without user interaction. Google reCAPTCHA collects certain information such as the referrer URL, IP address, visitor behavior, operating system information, browser and length of the visit, cookies, and mouse movements, which Google may use in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.

Tracking Technologies We Use

Our Sites may use the following categories of tracking technologies depending on the purpose of the Site, applicable local law, and any consent that you provide. You can find information about the cookies we use in our Cookie Preference Center.

First-party Cookies and Third-party Cookies

Our websites use both first-party and third-party cookies. First-party cookies are set by us or on our behalf under our domain. They are typically necessary for the operation of the website and to provide services you request, such as remembering your preferences, maintaining your session, or enabling core site functionality. They may also be used for analytics and performance purposes, as described in the "Classifications" section below.

Third-party cookies are set by domains other than ours, such as advertising networks, analytics providers, and social media platforms. These third parties may use their cookies to collect information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites or services. This information may be used, for example, to deliver advertising or enable social media features. The processing of personal data is subject to the respective third party's privacy and cookie policies, your browser settings, and any consent that you provide.

Technical or Strictly Necessary Technologies:

These technologies enable basic functions on the Site and are not optional. For example, they assist in:

Preference (also referred to as Functional) technologies establish a unique user ID that enable the Sites to remember information that provide a more personalized or convenient experience for the user. We use preference technologies in the following ways:

  • Authentication and security cookies to enable you to more easily log in or stay logged in to access the Sites;
  • Remember information about the user's browser and settings preferences, such as preferred language, font size, and sound volume; and
  • Test different versions of the Sites to see which features or content users prefer to optimize the Sites.

Performance and Analytics Technologies:

Performance and Analytics technologies help us understand how users interact with the Sites, such as to:

  • Analyze how users interact with the Sites so that we can understand which features and contents will be most relevant, such as the number of visits, average time spent on a webpage, and which features or pages are used (e.g., through Google Analytics);
  • Determine what type of device (e.g., smartphones, tablets, computers), browser, operating system, and screen resolution are used to access the Sites;
  • Record activity on our sites through session replay technologies to help us analyze how visitors use our Sites and how to improve them.

Targeting or Advertising Technologies:

Targeting (also referred to as Advertising or Marketing) technologies are used by us and by our advertising and social media partners to:

  • Understand your interests in our products and services based on your interactions with our Site as well as with other third party websites and online services, including building or enhancing user profiles
  • Provide more personalized content to you and deliver ads on other websites or social media channels based on your interests
  • Improve and measure the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising campaigns
  • Allow you to share our content with your networks on social media channels, if you choose to do so
  • Create aggregated benchmarking reports
  • Targeting ads to other audiences with similar characteristics

Depending on your browser settings and any consent you provide, our advertising and social media partners also may collect and use information for their own purposes, such as to combine information they collect through technologies on our sites with information collected on other websites and online services.

Retention Period

Session technologies: We place these to identify a particular visit to our Site and collect information about your interaction with the Site. They expire after a short time or when you close your web browser.

Persistent technologies: These will remain on your device for a set period of time or until you manually delete them on your browser. They do not expire when you close your browser.

Managing Your Choices

Again, please review the Privacy Notice featured on the footer of our Site to learn more about what personal data we collect using these technologies, how we use and disclose that personal data, and how to exercise any rights that you may have under your state's privacy laws.

In addition, you can find out more about Cookies and how to manage them by visiting www.AllAboutCookies.org.

Cookie Banner and Preference Center

When you first visit our Sites, you may be presented with a banner that offers you information about how we use technologies as well as the option to choose to opt-in or opt-out of non-essential technologies. If you wish to change or manage your choices, you can do so through our Cookie Preference Center.

Browser Settings

You also can change your Internet browser settings to refuse all or some technologies although you may not be able to access all or parts of the Site. You can consult the instructions offered by different browsers using the following links:

Please note that your decision to reject cookies is specific to each browser and device you are using. Therefore, if you opt out of cookies on a particular device and you want the same opt-outs to apply similarly to a different device, you will need to opt out from that other device as well.

Please also note that if you accept third-party cookies, you will need to delete them from your browser settings or from the system provided by the third-party itself. You can withdraw your consent to cookies on your browser by installing a plug-in or through the opt-out system provided by some third-parties that install cookies on our website.

Most mobile devices allow you to control advertising tracking through the "Limit Ad Tracking" option (more specific information for iOS devices can be found here), or the "Opt Out of Personalized Ads" option (more specific information for Android devices can be found here).

Universal Opt-Out Mechanisms

In addition to providing options for managing your cookie preferences, our Sites recognize the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signal. If you are using a browser setting or plug-in that sends an opt-out preference signal to each website you visit, we will treat that as a valid request to opt out of non-essential cookies.

To download and use a browser supporting the GPC browser signal, click here: https://globalprivacycontrol.org/orgs. If you choose to use the GPC signal, you will need to turn it on for each supported browser or browser extension you use.

Do Not Track

Certain browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" feature that sends signals to websites indicating that you do not want your online activities tracked. The Do Not Track feature does not work for every website or webpage and is separate from Global Privacy Control. To learn more about DNT, please visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com.

International Data Transfers

Some tracking technologies are located outside the country or region where you reside or the data was collected. When BSC engages vendors through tracking technologies that access or store personal data from other countries, BSC uses contractual and technical safeguards as appropriate based on the nature of the personal data and local requirements. You can find additional information about international transfers safeguards in the Privacy Notice linked at the footer of our Site, and, where applicable, the privacy policies of the third parties identified above.
