About / Corporate Social Responsibility / Practices / The Boston Scientific Foundation Europe / Funded ProjectsOnline children’s camps

The Bator Tabor Virtual Reality (VR) Project brings recreational therapy to thousands of seriously ill, hospitalised children in Central Europe – and beyond. During the pandemic, they were determined to continue their therapeutic camps for children and families fighting chronic illnesses. To adapt and innovate, Bator Tabor, used the BSFE funding to create an Online Home Camp – with a new microsite full of activity ideas, virtual group games, video sharing – to facilitate home bonding and improve family relationships.

Over 6 months, they were able to support 4,800 families fight the mental consequences of the long-term isolation of social distancing. With the support of BSFE they have helped families regain courage and hope and help them forget the craziness of the outside world for a while.
