In a meta-analysis of studies, FNB performed significantly better than fine-needle aspiration (FNA):2

The meta-analysis reveals that EUS-FNB + ROSE doesn't surpass EUS-FNB with newer end-cutting needles. However, ROSE may still play a role with reverse bevel needles.2​

AcquireTM and AcqurieTM  S are EUS-FNB Franseen-tip needles, which allow to acquire larger, adequate histologic core tissue, ensuring an accurate diagnosis using the fanning technique.3​

​The Franseen needle has been used for over 50 years in interventional radiology4 and since 2016 in diagnostic EUS since 2016, hence boasting a proven track record for accuracy.1 This is increasingly vital in oncology research and genomic sequencing for developing targeted cancer therapies.5​

The Franseen needle's architecture, featuring three symmetrical needle points with fully formed cutting heels that are electropolished for sharpness, stands out.6 For larger histological specimens and preserved tissue architecture.7​
