S-ICD Physician Courses

This workshop is designed to provide electrophysiologists with hands-on practice in S-ICD implantation on a dummy model, as well as a discussion of the best practices for S-ICD. The hands-on session includes marking, incision, pocket creation and tunnelling.

Target Audience: Electrophysiologists who are willing to start indicating and implanting S-ICD or have limited experience implanting it (≤ 5 implants in 2 years), or as part of the implant technique enhancement training.

Format: Learner’s Hospital or other local facility. 

Loco-regional blocks for S-ICD implantation.

Target Audience: Electrophysiologist: > 10 implants per year (account dependent) or anaesthetists: no minimum requirement.

This workshop is designed to offer electrophysiologists hands-on practice in S-ICD implantation using a dummy model. It also includes discussions on best practices for S-ICD procedures. The hands-on session features echo-guided instruction on the serratus plane block using a dummy model.

Target Audience: Electrophysiologists or Surgeons with previous S-ICD implant experience (> 10 S-ICD implants per year) or anaesthetists supporting S-ICD implants, interested to learn how to perform Serratus plane block.

Format: Learner’s Hospital or other local facility. 

Designed for both doctors and cardiac physiologists, this course covers all aspects of S-ICD technology, including the evolution and clinical data behind the S-ICD. It will then concentrate on patient screening and the EMBLEMᵀᴹ S-ICD capabilities. The group will split for the afternoon sessions, with doctors focusing on hands-on best practices and physiologists attending a practical session, including device management at both implantation and follow-up.

Target Audience: The course is limited to eight physiologists and eight doctors per session. Delegates from S-ICD implanting centres only.
