Setting Up Your Communicator

Follow these easy steps for setting up your LATITUDE Communicator using a standard phone line, cellular data network or internet connection.

Connection Options for LATITUDE

Your LATITUDE Communicator is designed to operate on standard telephone lines like those found in most homes. The Communicator may work on other telephone systems such as digital subscriber line (DSL) and voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), as long as these systems provide an analog interface (phone jack) for connecting the Communicator.

If you don't have a landline, or if your landline does not work with the Communicator, Boston Scientific has several other connection methods available. (Only one connection method is needed.)

Alternative connection methods to a standard phone line:

  1. LATITUDE USB Ethernet Adapter* (uses an internet connection)
  2. LATITUDE USB Cellular Adapter* (uses a cellular data network)
  3. LATITUDE Wireless Internet Adapter* (uses an internet connection)

*Optional connection accessories, available separately. There is a one-time charge for these accessories unless your clinic has made other arrangements. Contact LATITUDE Patient Services at (866) 484-3268 for details.

Which Connection Method is Best For Me?

USB Ethernet Adapter

(uses an internet connection)

The LATITUDE USB Ethernet Adapter is a good option if you have a high-speed internet connection and spend a considerable amount of time in the room where your modem or router is located.

The LATITUDE USB Ethernet Adapter sends data to the LATITUDE system using your internet connection.

This is a good option in areas with poor cellular coverage.

USB Cellular Adapter

(uses a cellular data network)

The LATITUDE USB Cellular Adapter is a good option for those that travel, and provides simple setup in whatever room you prefer.

The LATITUDE Cellular Adapter does not use your personal cell phone and has everything needed to send your data to the LATITUDE system.

Wireless Internet Adapter

(uses an internet connection)

The LATITUDE Wireless Internet Adapter is a good option for those that have a high-speed internet connection, but do not spend much time in the room where their internet modem or router is located.

The LATITUDE Wireless Internet Adapter allows you to have the Communicator up to 100 feet away from your internet modem or router.
