EMEA employee donations help support relief efforts in Beirut
In 2020, a massive explosion at the port of the city of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, caused mass devastation, taking the lives of hundreds of people and leaving thousands more injured and destitute.

In response, Bostin Scientific activated a global employee matching gift campaign to support the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), who were working on the ground to help people suffering from a now triple-layered emergency of economic crisis, COVID-19 and massive explosion.

In total, $30,607 was raised via the employee donation matching programme for the IFRC Emergency Appeal with the funds going towards the Lebanese Red Cross ambulance service, as well as supporting the purchase and delivery of emergency medical supplies, medicine, livelihood support and the rehabilitation of damaged Lebanese Red Cross premises.

Boston Scientific also made a $50K direct donation to St George Hospital, which had been out of service due to the explosion, and a $30k direct donation to Rosary Sister Hospital, another medical facility that was heavily damaged by the explosion.
