Making Measurable Progress
Our planet is facing unprecedented environmental challenges that demand creative problem-solving. We are mindful of reducing the impact we have on the climate and work continuously to find ways to improve.
By addressing our energy consumption, carbon output
Global Energy Management System
To ensure we meet our energy reduction and carbon neutrality commitments, we use a Global Energy Management System (GEMS) established in collaboration with the National University of Ireland, Galway. The system focuses on minimizing energy use, converting to renewable energy sources instead of fossil fuels and compensating with carbon-offset projects where needed.
To achieve these goals, we established the following targets:
- 50% renewable electricity by 2021
- 100% renewable electricity by 2024
- 90% renewable energy by 2027
- Carbon-neutral manufacturing operations by 2030
Carbon Neutrality
We take our role in addressing climate change seriously. For that reason, we have committed to achieving carbon neutrality in all of our manufacturing and key distribution sites by 2030. Carbon neutrality refers to achieving net zero carbon emissions associated with our manufacturing operations and purchased energy by balancing the amount of carbon released with an equal amount removed or compensated.
We also work to conserve energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as those from electricity and natural gas consumption, across our manufacturing and distribution facilities.
