On Thursday 23rd May at PCR Prof. Lars Søndergaard and the team from Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen Denmark performed the first WATCHMAN FLX live case with an excellent final result!
After discussing the techniques and tips & tricks for easy transeptal puncture, the team talked the audience through their choice of 24mm WATCHMAN FLX device. They proceeded with a double curve TruSealTM sheath and discussed the differences in the new WATCHMAN FLX implantation techniques and how the new WATCHMAN FLX ball with its atraumatic distal end, now gives the implanter the advantage to advance safely into the left atrial appendage (LAA).
For this case, they favoured the advancement deployment method, which allowed them to get a really perfect first implant position first time and required no repositioning. The final implant had 19-20% compression and sat very nicely with no leak or shoulder.
In summary, this was really a perfect first WATCHMAN FLX live case with a beautiful final implant result!

Prof. Möllmann and team performed a challenging live case on Wednesday 22nd. The case was directly transmitted from St.-Johannes Hospital Dortmund, Germany, to the screen at the crowded main arena. Prof. Möllmann showed the audience how a horizontal aorta can be treated safe and efficient with our full TAVI portfolio: iSLEEVETM, SENTINELTM, SAFARI2 TM and ACURATE neoTM. The great result underlines not only the advantages of our ACURATE neo TAVI system but also the benefits of performing Protected TAVI!
