Short wire system

Decorative Image

Designed to facilitate access and control during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), the RX Biliary System:

  • Puts the physician in control of the guidewire
  • Secures the guidewire to maintain access during exchanges
  • Provides a tactile feel while manipulating the guidewire

The ergonomic, rotating handle* of the Autotome™ RX Cannulating Sphincterotome is engineered for excellent control. It is designed to aid precise tip movement and wire manipulation to facilitate cannulation.

* With AutotomeTM RX 39 and 44 only.

Reducing
complications

There was a statistically significant lower rate of post-ERCP complications in patients who underwent endoscopist-controlled wire-guided cannulation compared with assistant-controlled wire-guided cannulation.1

In particular, physician-controlled wire-guided cannulation can reduce the risk of post-ERCP pancreatitis compared with the standard contrast injection method.1,2

Resource
savings

Adopting short-wire technology decreases the procedural duration and the amount of time needed for sedation and fluoroscopy.3
