Educational Grants and Exhibit Sponsorship

Boston Scientific may provide financial and product support to third-party educational conferences that further medical and scientific knowledge through didactic discourse and debate among participants. Boston Scientific believes that such programs are a critical catalyst to advancements in the medical community, and we support a wide range of programs at the local, regional and national levels.

This section is intended to serve as a reference for medical professionals regarding the educational grant and exhibitor application process. Provided are the necessary forms and materials required to submit a request.

Boston Scientific respects the Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education as promulgated by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and as such will not seek to control the content or management of third-party programs (for example, selection of topics, faculty, and attendees).

According to Boston Scientific policies, as well as industry standards embodied in the AdvaMed Code of Ethics on Interactions with Health Care Providers, we do not directly pay for conference costs such as facilities, faculty honoraria and travel expenses. All approved grant funding is provided directly to the conference provider to offset overall conference expenses.

Please note that our Boston Scientific CRM Grant Committee will only review eligible submissions to subsidize the reasonable travel expenses, lodging and/or tuition for Fellows, as health care providers in training, to attend qualified educational conferences.

Boston Scientific provides grants to support the following types of educational programs:

• National, regional or local conferences and professional meetings, eligible for continuing medical education (CME) credit or otherwise;
• Grand Rounds presentations;
• Publication or rebroadcasts of a CME Conference or program (in booklet or pamphlet form, over the Internet, etc.).
• Other educational materials or initiatives.
  

Requests to exhibit at educational programs must be submitted on a separate Exhibit Sponsorship Request Form

Required Documentation

Educational Grant

1. Completed Boston Scientific Educational Grant Application form;
   
   
2. A signed letter of request, printed on the conference provider’s letterhead, specifying financial and any other support requested;
   
   
3. Conference brochure or detailed agenda outlining location, dates, speakers, topics and time;
   
   
4. A detailed budget outlining the event and speaker expenses with sponsorship levels;
   
   
5. Number of attendees;
   
   
6. Completed W-9 form signed by the institution.
