PROCEDURES AND PRODUCTS
PICC Placement
A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) is placed in patients who need medication delivered intravenously. Boston Scientific’s Vaxcel® PICC with PASV® Valve Technology is designed with patient care in mind.
Placement of Dialysis Catheter
Dialysis is a treatment given to patients whose kidneys can no longer clean waste from their blood. A chronic dialysis catheter is sometimes inserted to provide continuous access to the blood system.
Port Implantation
Implantable ports are designed to provide long-term access to blood vessels for the delivery of medication, and are usually placed under the skin on the upper part of the chest wall.
Power Injection
This overview of the power injection procedure for Boston Scientific's Xcela™ Power Injectable PICC will help aid CT Technologists as they prepare for a contrast-enhanced CT. CT Techs should always consult the Directions for Use if guidance is needed.
