SpyGlass® Direct Visualization System

The SpyGlass Direct Visualization System is a technically advanced device platform created for the Endoscopist and is designed to accelerate diagnostic accuracy during ERCP. SpyGlass System is a single-operator system developed to overcome the hurdles of traditional cholangioscopy systems and reduce the need for exploratory surgery in the pancreatico-biliary system including the hepatic ducts.

SpyGlass System and EHL: Boston Scientific has entered into an agreement with Northgate Technologies, Inc., for a GI EHL probe specifically designed for use with the SpyGlass Direct Visualization System. Once stones are identified, the EHL probe may be passed through the SpyScope Catheter to deliver electro hydrauliclithotripsy (EHL) under direct visualization to break up large stones in the biliary ducts.

Boston Scientific recently received 510K clearance from the FDA to market the SpyScope® Access and Delivery Catheter, for diagnostic and therapeutic applications during endoscopic procedures in the pancreatico-biliary system including the hepatic ducts. Accessory devices utilized with the SpyGlass System may be used to diagnose and treat diseases such as cholangiocarcinoma, biliary papillomatosis, pancreatic cancer, or precancerous tissues and/or stone therapy.
