Peripheral Arterial Occlusive Disease (PAD)

Program Overview:
This course consisting of slides, lecture, and discussion provides an overview of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Topics include a summary of the peripheral artery anatomy and PAD causes, symptoms, diagnostic techniques, and some of the most common current approved treatment options.

Program Objectives:
Upon completion of this continuing education program, the participant should be able to:

• Identify peripheral arterial vascular anatomy
• Discuss the causes of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and understand the disease process and risk factors
• Review normal and abnormal intravascular anatomy
• Understand invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures that can determine the presence and severity of PAD
• Determine the treatment options available for patients with PAD
• Understand the sample case study for a patient with PAD and the treatment option selected by the physician

Intended Audience:
This program is intended for registered nurses and radiologic technologists.

Program Location/Availability:
Program is presented in-person and held on-site at a hospital.

Participants are requested to complete the pre- and post-evaluations for the program.
