The Mirowski Award for Excellence in Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology

The Mirowski Award for Excellence in Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology celebrates the vision and legacy of Michel Mirowski, MD and honors his distinguished career, one marked by unfettered scientific inquiry, pioneering research, and perseverance in the face of skepticism.

Thus, in the spirit of Dr. Mirowski's life, the Mirowski Award recognizes individuals who have made fundamental contributions to the understanding and/or treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

In addition, the award is intended to raise public awareness of the enormous value of biomedical research in the area of heart rhythm disturbances.

Award Criteria

The recipient of the award as determined by the Mirowski Committee is an individual of high moral character, whose vision and insight has transformed our understanding of cardiology. The nominee is also an individual who:
Has contributed to the understanding, diagnosis, prevention, and/or treatment of cardiac arrhythmias
Is recognized by his or her peers as a key opinion leader in the field of electrophysiology and/or cardiology
Has an outstanding clinical, academic, and/or research background.
All nominations must be received by December 1, 2008
