Long-Term Market Opportunities: More than $1 Billion
Clinical Challenge:
Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI or heart
attack) occurs when the blood supply to part of the heart
muscle is stopped. As a result, permanent damage to the heart tissue
and muscle may occur.
What’s Next:
- Currently, drug-eluting stents are not indicated
for use in AMI patients. However, we believe it may be feasible
to use drug-eluting stent technology to prevent restenosis in
AMI patients.
