More than 200,000 hysterectomies are performed every year in the U.S. for excessive menstrual bleeding due to benign causes. The HTA^® Endometrial Ablation System is a ten-minute outpatient procedure that can treat this condition without requiring patients to undergo
a hysterectomy.

The technique, approved by the FDA, can be performed in a physician’s office without incisions. After local anesthesia is administered, the internal lining of the uterus – which is responsible for the bleeding – is ablated. This procedure substantially improves quality of life for women who previously did not have this less-invasive option.
