During an initial PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) placement, a feeding tube is placed through the abdominal wall into the stomach to allow for nutrition to be given to the patient. A PEG placement may be used in patients that have difficulty swallowing or cannot consume nutrition by mouth.

The Safety PEG, Standard PEG, and Low Profile PEG are indicated for providing nutrition directly into the stomach in patients who are unable to consume nutrition by conventional means.
