PERIPHERAL INTERVENTIONS PHYSICIAN PROGRAMS

Led by highly-respected physician faculty, our Physician Training Programs are designed to help increase understanding of the clinical, procedural, and technical challenges respective to peripheral vascular procedures. All programs have been designed to drive clinical proficiency and foster increased patient access to care.

Program Faculty is comprised of Key Opinion Leaders from around the country, officers of National Societies, investigators from landmark clinical trials, and textbook authors who contribute to the development of clinical guidelines.

Program Description

This program is designed to highlight best clinical practices for the diagnosis and treatment of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).

Facilitated by a faculty of esteemed physicians, the extensive hands-on portion of this program will feature the use of cadaver models, anatomical flow models, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound. Our faculty will give a didactic overview of tools and treatment strategies respective to treating DVT – including case review and thrombectomy device selection and usage techniques.

Program Description

This program is designed to demonstrate best clinical practices for the management of patients presenting with symptoms of Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) and the complex Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO’s).

Facilitated by a faculty of esteemed physicians, the extensive hands-on portion of this program will feature the use of cadaver models, anatomical flow models, pedal-access models, case simulation, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy. Our faculty will give a didactic overview of treatment strategies respective to these complex lower extremity scenarios – including extensive case review and an overview of the latest technology in drug elution, atherectomy and crossing tools.

An Allied Health Professional (AHP) is invited to accompany his/her physician to Boston Scientific’s Preceptorship Programs when program space is available. The AHP must be a critical member of the lab staff, a trusted advisor to the physician, and have responsibility for BSC device setup of consoles and systems 

The objective is for the physician and AHP to have a shared experience at the program as a treatment team.
