Local Educational Programs

These educational programs are hosted by Boston Scientific sales representatives in the local area. A physician expert is invited to speak on one of a variety of subjects. Program topics include SYNERGY™ Coronary Stent System, Chronic Total Occlusions, Complex PCI, Transradial Cardiac Catheterization, PCI Guidance, the BSC Pipeline and Fellows Future, among others. Generally, programs are held in a conference room space at a local restaurant or hotel.

Foundations of CTO: Master the Complex

 

This program is designed to highlight best clinical practices for Complex PCI and CTO through the optimization of revascularization. This program will be delivered through regional training programs which will embody didactic and case presentations, in addition to hands-on experience with current technology. Through this program, an attendee will be able to obtain sound knowledge on fundamentals around complex coronary intervention, allowing the attendee to explain the rationale for PCI in patients with complex coronary disease. Through discussions around the usage of different tools in optimizing PCI outcomes, the program will provide basic knowledge enhancement on CTO‑PCI. Skills such as the Hybrid Algorithm technique will also be discussed in-depth. Through program content, the attendee will gain knowledge to formulate a step by step procedure on building a complex coronary revascularization program.

Allied Health Professionals (AHP)

This program provides a peer-to-peer educational opportunity for nurses and techs who wish to gain a better understanding of the concepts, applications, and potential benefits of using Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Rotational Atherectomy, Thrombectomy and Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO). Participants will attend a two day program lead by expert faculty of the above mentioned modalities. Attendees will also participate in hands-on experience with the devices used to perform procedures.
