Institute for Advancing Science
The Institute for Advancing Science located in St. Paul, MN offers a unique and customized learning experience for practicing physicians who need additional refresher training.
The one day physician skills training programs focus on the safe and effective use of Boston Scientific products and combine didactic learning with hands-on workshop application including VR simulators, 3D models and animal models in a fully functional cath lab.
Programs are customized to the learning needs of the physician including pacemaker and LV lead system implants and transseptal procedures. Physicians may expect to learn the following:
- appropriate system selection and use of implant tools
- interpretation of stored data
- lead selection
- insertion and appropriate placement based on anatomical differences
- safe septal crossing
- recognition and management of complications
Implant Training Programs
Hands-on training centers are located throughout the country. These programs are designed to provide you an opportunity to observe and participate in actual patient implants under the direct supervision of expert EP physician instructors.
The instructor provides didactic instruction including patient selection and preparation, implant steps, lead and device selection, patient management, follow-up, and troubleshooting techniques.
Programs are available to implanting physicians with a focus on either pacemaker or LV lead implantation designed to teach the safe and effective use of BSC products.
