In your opinion, why is building a culture of inclusion a business imperative at Boston Scientific?
It is imperative to build an inclusive environment so that everyone has a sense of belonging. With that, every business decision that one makes, becomes personal and more impactful.
In what ways have you found BSC’s culture to be inclusive?
From having roles as a product specialist to a sales manager, which I am today, I have always played a part in the decision making with my manager. We discuss challenges and opportunities together, and function as a team. That is being fundamentally inclusive.
Why did you choose to become an ERG member and what has your personal experience been like?
I feel strongly that diversity and building an inclusive environment, especially for women, is critical for Boston Scientific to thrive. The company has treated me well, and I hope for every success of this company. Being involved is my way of giving back.
My personal experience is nothing short of what I stand for. Living in Singapore gives me an advantage as our office is the APAC headquarters. I get to work with a diverse group of people of various nationalities and backgrounds – this results in great collaboration. And the non-discriminatory, inclusive experience is all positive, as various groups of colleagues from different seniority levels often solicit and appreciate my opinion. For that, I am grateful and hope others feels the same way.
What have you gained from your participation?
I now know that Boston Scientific is a company that values talent, no matter which level we stand – bosses have no airs, and listen to you if you have something constructive to share. No wonder we are on Forbes’ list of Most Valued Companies!
In what ways does Boston Scientific allow you to bring your best self to work each day?
I come to work every day knowing that I am appreciated for who I am, and what I bring to the company. This fuels my esteem and allows me to function at my best. I know that my manager has my back.
What inspires you about working at Boston Scientific?
