The Safety PEG is indicated for providing nutrition directly into the stomach in patients who are unable to consume nutrition by conventional means. The safety components of the kit are designed to reduce the potential for inadvertent sharps injury to medical personnel during and after the procedure.
- Consistent with Federal and OSHA Guidelines
- Available in both push and pull techniques
- Kit includes:
- Pre-filled syringe with 5.0ml 1% Lidocaine (to eliminate separate Lidocaine vial) OR plastic Xylocaine® ampule with luer-lock neck (to eliminate potential for glass shard injuries)
- Safety trocar catheter with needle tip protector designed to engage when the needle stylet is removed from the needle cannula
- Safety-shielded scalpel with a thumb activated lockable shield
- SafetyGlide® shielded injection needle with 22 gauge x 1-1/2” and 25 gauge x 1” options designed to eliminate need for dual-barrel safety syringe
