Boston Scientific has joined nearly 100 companies across Massachusetts in the Governor’s Clean Energy Challenge (CEC). The goal of the Challenge is to make a ten percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions over three years, and the spirit of the challenge is to aim higher.
Boston Scientific’s process began prior to the challenge as part of our global program to better manage and reduce energy requirements, and associated green house gases. The CEC program will begin with an energy analysis by Boston Scientific’s utility company, to generate a baseline energy assessment. Using our own energy analysis in concert with the utility company’s, Boston Scientific will work with the utility company to identify ways to make impactful changes and then implement them. Progress will be reviewed periodically.
The Governor’s Clean Energy Challenge team will host an event each year to discuss progress and best practices to help companies reach the minimum ten percent reduction by 2012. Participating companies who are making rapid progress will also share their stories.
